Kelsey – Owner

Thinking back as far as I can remember as a young girl, I would spend countless hours coloring, drawing and painting. I remember getting new coloring books all the time and thinking about how horrible it was that the pages were only black and white. So, when I’d start coloring a page my main goal would not only be to stay within the lines but to also color every single page. I just loved how much more beautiful and fuller of life it was after I was done. I felt this sense of satisfaction that I couldn’t get enough of. Then I began getting more into drawing and painting. Throughout my school years art was of course always my favorite subject. I would look at my art teacher and day dream about what it would be like to have such a fun job. Time ticked by and right after high school I had my first child (Preston) so my main focus became solely on him and working any job that would pay the bills. I hated bouncing from job to job trying to find one that I could turn into a career. It never felt right and in the long run it never worked out for me. This revolving door lasted about ten years. Granted I became a cosmetologist in the midst. I enjoyed doing updos and colors and excelled at hair competitions in school but even with that there was still an emptiness. Then I had my other son at 28 (Carson). Here I was a single mother of two still trying to find myself and recover from an extremely rough patch in life. Crafting became my therapy and my best friend. Every time I had a few extra dollars I would run out and get new materials for a new project idea. I also started teaching myself some woodworking and would use recycled wood to make signs, shelves and various projects. I began taking over the garage and front room with all kinds of tools and materials. I guess you could say I became slightly obsessed. I would spend any spare minute I could in the front room at my mom’s house working on a new project I’d found on Pinterest or thought of myself. My entire photo library turned into screenshots of quotes and project ideas I wanted to do. I created a Facebook page called Kelseys Kustom Kreationz and started to post things that I’d create on there and started to get feedback and orders. I loved the direction things were going but it still wasn’t quite enough. I didn’t want crafting and creating beautiful things to only be a “hobby” or a side job for me. I wanted to do it all day, every day. Now here I am on this new journey doing what I love and there’s nothing better than being able to share my passion with others. I want to provide a fun, positive and happy experience for everyone. I want this to be the place that people can come to escape and explore their creativity with no worries while creating something beautiful to bring home and hang with pride. I want everyone to feel that inner satisfaction every time they see their masterpiece. I also just want to make my mother and father proud. They have done everything they could and more to support me and they deserve nothing less. Thank you for reading and checking out the Art Den page. I’m excited to be the new owner and cannot wait to meet you and show you a super great time!
